Préparer ses vacances pendant la grossesse

Preparing for your vacation during pregnancy

Going on vacation while pregnant requires careful planning to ensure your safety and comfort. Here's a guide that will give you tips for planning your vacation optimally. 😉

When to leave?

The second trimester is often considered the best time to travel, as the nausea of the first trimester has generally passed and the risks of the third trimester are still distant. However, it is essential to consult your doctor or midwife; they will be able to advise you on specific precautions to take based on your health and pregnancy.

Which destination to choose?

Some destinations may not be recommended for pregnant women due to specific health risks.

If you want to check health and safety recommendations by destination, you can go to the government website and search for a specific country. There you'll find all the information on hospitalization costs, vaccinations, health risks, and more. If you think you're at risk, staying in France will ensure you receive optimal care.

Try to choose a destination with a temperate climate to avoid extremes of heat or cold, which can be uncomfortable or dangerous for you during your pregnancy.

What precautions should be taken?

Before any trip, schedule a visit to your doctor to make sure everything is okay and that the trip will go smoothly. If you need medication, don't forget to bring enough.

And plan your trip to include regular breaks to avoid fatigue and discomfort.

What activities and leisure activities can I do?

If you're near water and there are water activities, don't hesitate to take a pedal boat ride; it's a calming activity that will work your legs (it will help you fight heavy legs). You can also simply go swimming; you'll feel lighter, and there are no contraindications during pregnancy.

Otherwise, you can walk around to visit the place you are in and exercise gently.

Avoid extreme sports, high altitude activities or anything that could cause shocks or falls.
